Multi objective Generation expansion planning in deregulated systems to consider benefit of generation company

چکیده
This paper describes use of a new approach to solve multi-period multi-objective optimization of generation expansion planning problem in deregulated power systems over a long term planning horizon. Traditionally, the objective in undertaking aGeneration Expansion Planning (GEP) process has been tominimize the expected sum of yearly discounted costs(incorporate i.e., construction costs, operating costs, salvagevalue, etc.). Now, the objective is to apply GEP to today’scompetitive electricity markets in order to maximize the profitsof individual GENCOs (i.e., the revenues based on market pricesand capital and operating costs) and minimize emission of generation units objectives. This paper introduces a longtermexpansion model for GENCOs operating in the deregulatedelectricity environment. The model considers uncertainty, generation capacity limits, and expansion rate and investmentduring the expansion period. The proposed solution for multiobjective mathematical programming framework includes a hybrid augmented–weighted epsilon approach to obtain the Pareto optimal or efficient solutions for the problem. Finally, fuzzy decision making is implemented to select the most preferred solution among Pareto solutions based on the goals of decision makers

A Fuzzy Multi Objective Programming Model for Power Generation and Transmission Expansion Planning Problem
The increasing consumption of electricity over time forces different countries to establishnew power plants and transmission lines. There are various crisp single-objective mathematicalmodels in the literature for the long-term power generation and transmission expansion planning tohelp the decision makers to make more reasonable decisions. But, in practice, most of the parametersassociated wit...
متن کاملTransmission Planning in Deregulated Environments
A new market based approach for transmission expansion planning in deregulated environments is presented in this paper. In this approach, transmission-planning decisions are made based on the electric power market conditions. The main contribution of this research is 1) Introducing a new probabilistic tool for analyzing the electric market conditions, 2) Defining new criteria for ranking transm...
متن کاملReturn on Investment in Transmission Network Expansion Planning Considering Wind Generation Uncertainties Applying Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm
Although significant private investment is absorbed in different sectors of power systems, transmission sector is still suffering from appropriate private investment. This is because of the pricing policies of transmission services, tariffs, and especially for investment risks. Investment risks are due to the uncertain behaviour of power systems that discourage investors to invest in the transm...

Environmental pollution and rapid depletion are among the chief concerns about fossil fuels such as oil, gas, and coal. Renewable energy sources do not suffer from such limitations and are considered the best choice to replace fossil fuels. The present study develops a mathematical model for optimal allocation of regional renewable energy to meet a country-wide demand and its other essential as...
